GROOVE DENTAL

Located in the central Edmonton community of Glenora, Groove Dental's design aesthetic was heavily influenced by the mature neighbourhood along with our Client's post-secondary education in New York City where there is an abundance of historical warehouses.

The concept was to create the illusion of a late 1800's/early 1900's warehouse conversion.  The existing wood roof remained while new solid fir beams with custom metal brackets.  Brick tile was used on exterior walls to mimic what would have been brick structural walls.  Wood vinyl tile adorns the floors and new custom metal framed glazing units are used throughout to help provide a sense of space and reinforce the warehouse feel.

The existing space was long and narrow with a lack of natural light.  As such, a critical new addition with our design was to incorporate four new large clerestory windows at the foot of the patient chairs.  This provided ample indirect natural light throughout the entire clinic.

An additional new unique feature to this location is the incorporation of an exterior waiting space on the North side.  The design relocated an existing door opening into the reception area where during warmer days, patients can wait outside for their upcoming appointment.

Bold Design Inc also worked closely with the Client's selected branding agency to ensure design consistency between all printed collateral and the interior design concept.
