PAGE THE CLEANER
When local success story Page The Cleaner decided to move into a new larger location for its head office and centralized cleaning centre, they looked to establish a new look for its 80th anniversary. We jumped at the chance to reinvent the look of this business.
We started by a visioning session that included discussions about the family business, its history and looked at some historical photos of the business in the community.
Take cues off some vintage cleaning equipment; we came up with the vision of a new version of a 1950’s retail store. Bright reds complemented the corporate logo while teal, beige and brown accents helped establish the feel. No one ever cleaned as well as grandmother as such; we wanted the aesthetic to complement the vision.
Wood look luxury vinyl tile was used as a means to provide a more residential feel to the space, while a red striped wallcovering adorns a bulkhead above the entry, which mimics contrast stitching on fabric. The same wallcovering in a teal accentuates the back feature wall behind the exposed clothing conveyor. It was important to the Client to have the equipment be as much in the space as other design elements.
To help enhance the vision of the space being set in the 1950’s, restored vintage cleaning equipment as well as old print advertisements are dispersed throughout the space to help blend the old with the new. We are certain the end result is a one of a kind approach in Edmonton to a dry cleaning facility.
