Located in the Windermere Gates area in Southwest Edmonton, Envision Eye Care is a one-of-a-kind optometry clinic, which fuses the latest in vision correction with modern and urban design.

From the very beginning we know this would be a very unique project when we were asked if we would work closely with the Client’s artist friend, Rahmaan Hameed. Rahmaan, an Edmonton based artist with a unique flair for capturing pop-culture in a graffiti-like and colourful manner helped pave the way for the interior design concept.

Ensuring that the planned 20 foot long mural (including pop-culture and local celebrities from varying generations) was incorporated into the design, we planned to have it installed above the custom built-in reception bench seating on the one side to balance the retail area on the other side.

Looking for a modern yet soft approach, we offset the geometry of the rectangular retail area with a matte white curved reception desk that was further highlighted but the curved corners of the recessed lighting above.

The entire concept was to balance a white modern environment with colour and form. Colour was kept to a minimum but when used was used in strategic locations to help emphasize the brand colour.

At 1,970 square feet the clinic includes one closed and one open pre-exam rooms, two exam rooms, one vision correction room, an in-house lab, a contact fitting area, staff room, pre-exam waiting area and of course the front-end retail and waiting area.
