Located on the second floor of Southgate Centre, in Edmonton, AB, Innovation Physical Therapy Plus brings registered physical therapy, massage therapy, IMS and other wellness services to this central and regional shopping centre.

The functional programming requirements included: a retail inspired storefront, seven semi-private therapy rooms, three private closed treatment rooms, a gym, a centralized preparation area, staff charting room, one private office as well as a storage and laundry room.

The entire space functional plan is designed about efficient space planning, and optimized services for the patients. The gym is easily accessible from the preparation room which is a galley style room which also opens up to the semi-private treatment areas.

The overall feel of the space was to be modern, inviting and unique. The welcome area (a.k.a. reception) invites patients in with warm yet soft greys, large acoustical blue pendants and a Palm Springs, mid-century vibe with the custom breeze-blocks. This concept continues throughout the space where additional accents of grey and blue are seen.

Thoughtful retail displays are scattered throughout the space to help provide a more experience focused environment and to downplay the traditional feeling of physical therapy clinics.
