TOMMIE SALON

With over 20 years experience and having run one of Edmonton’s finest hair salons, it was now time for our Client to open her own salon: Tommie Salon.
Location was everything for this store. Located in the neighborhood where our Client grew up, she was coming back to create a new experience for her past, current and future patrons. Located in an old established community strip mall in Parkview, this new salon and boutique was poised to be unique.
Design started with a programming meeting with our Client. Through this process we had a clear vision. The space was to have a bit of lower light levels than traditional locations, a clear retail section, a spot of red and have a central design feature of a fourteen-foot long salvaged wood top from the Client’s brother at Autonomous Furniture in Victoria, BC.
It was the spot of red and the salvaged wood slab that was the design driver for the space. Accented with white, black and grey, the overall salon is inviting yet dramatic at the same time. Beautiful crystal decorative lights denote cutting stations while fabric wrapped crystal light fixtures accentuate the wood colouring station.
